What in the World are Glyconutrients?

A glyconutrient is a biochemical that has a sugar molecule inside. Glyco can be placed in front of a fat, protein or another molecule and it will mean that there is a sugar attached.

This means that Glycobiology is the study of the sugar in these proteins and fats.

A Glycoprotein is sugar attached to a protein.

A Glycolipid is sugar attached to a fat.

A Glycoform is any sugar form.

Glyconutrients are carbohydrates and are recently proven to be necessary carbohydrate nutrients.

Glyconutrients may be the key to proper cellular communication and proper cell function. There are lots of scientists that think glyconutrients will be a household word soon because of that discovery. They also think it is going to be well known because it is necessary in our nutrition. Like our main vitamins, they believe Glyconutrients will become just as popular.
