Minerals and Arthritis

October 22nd, 2007 . by admin

If we want to be healthy and keep ourselves in good condition, we need minerals.

The human body contains a variety of minerals, the only bad thing is we can’t produce the minerals in our body. We have to get them from outside sources. If you don’t get enough minerals in your body, you may have health problems because of that. One condition caused by the deficiency of minerals is arthritis.

There are quite a few minerals that are used to help people who have arthritis pain. These minerals are:

Boron: Even though there is only a small amount of this mineral in our bodies, it helps bone health.

Calcium: It is one of the most important minerals to keep bones healthy.

Magnesium: It assists in the balance of calcium in our bodies.

Zinc: We all need Zinc for our bones to grow and it is usually deficient in people who have arthritis.

Manganese: Also needed for bone growth. It is important not to take manganese and calcium supplements at the same times because they can counteract each other.

Copper: Assists in strengthening connective tissue.

Germanium: An antioxidant that helps to relieve pain.

Sulfur: If sulfur is deficient it can lead to ligament, cartilage, collagen and tendon deterioration.

Traditionally, humans get minerals from fresh produce and a few dairy products. Currently, we need to get the minerals we need from other areas. This is because…

-There aren’t as many minerals in the soil that our fruits and veggies are produced in.

-Food is processed differently than the past.

-Snack and junk foods are more popular.

If you are suffering from arthritis pain or are deficient in minerals, you should take a supplement to get the requirements you need.
