A supplement will have a certain mixture of vitamins, minerals, herbs, botanicals, amino acids, or metabolites. A Variety of Vitamin Information

The most well-known vitamin is probably Vitamin C. In the past, sailors died from scurvy until they started to bring citrus on their trips and it prevented it. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and helps to synthesize collagen and this will keep our skin looking healthy. If you want to get a good amount of Vitamin C in, all you need to do is drink some orange juice.

Vitamin D is very important too. So much so that it was added to milk. Because of this addition of Vitamin D to milk, children no longer get the disease rickets. Vitamin D is very significant in the upkeep of our bones and joints to make them strong.

Another supplement, Vitamin B, got it’s stars when it was discovered and used to help stop the beriberi disease. Vitamin B includes the vitamins thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), folic acid (B9), cyanocobalamin (B12) pantothetic acid, choline and biotin. This vitamin is important to help us break down carbohydrates. If you are a vegetarian, you might need to take a vitamin supplement to give you these nutrients since no meat is eaten.

Vitamin A is thought to help our membranes. This is why people believe eating carrots is good for our eyes because the beta-carotene is changed into Vitamin A when our body needs it.
